  1.     Runaway Cake – $75 million

This cake was made by an Arab couple for their daughter’s birthday cum engagement party. Debbie Wingham created this six-foot cake which weighs around 1000 pounds.

This cake resembles a fashion runway with fondant models draped in fashionable clothes and accessories at the center of the cake. This cake has 4000 diamonds in pink, black, yellow, and white worth $45 million, and the ramp is made with Chocolate Ganache and Triple Belgian Chocolate.

This cake, priced at $75 million, holds the record of being the costliest cake in the world.

  1.     The National Gay Wedding Cake – $52 million

This 8-layer cake was made by Jules and Tim Smith in just five days for a National Gay Wedding show and is the world’s most expensive wedding cake.

It is a simple white fondant cake with no information on the core flavor. This 8-tiered cake is edible and decorated with 4000 diamonds. It was made by a bakery in Chester, England, for a wedding show in 2013 that took place in Liverpool.

The five-foot eight-layer cake was sold for $52 million due to the 4000 diamonds in it. In 2013, it broke the record of the costliest cake title held by the Pirate’s cake.

  1.     Pirates Fantasy Cake – $35 million

It is the third costliest cake in the world at $ 35 million. This cake, created by Chef Dimuthu Kumarasinghe, was the most expensive cake in 2012. This ten-layered cake boasts different flavors in each layer and can be called one of the most innovative cakes.

This cake combines flavors like cinnamon, zucchini, coconut chips, purple yam and pistachio, almond cookies, rosemary, white chocolate, walnut, pineapple, lemon, baked cheese, sweet wineberry, and coconut meringue. It has been decorated with the rarest Padmaraja sapphire.

The chef has further added bracelets, rings, pendants, and nose and toe rings. This cake is similar to a pirate’s ship, which has a booty made of the rarest stones.

  1.     Diamond Gala Cake – $30 million

This 7-tier cake was made by Buddy Valastro, creator of Cake Boss, the reality show, and his crew for one of the expensive parties held by Devorah Rose, the Social Life Magazine’s editor-in-chief. This cake is the most expensive cake on Cake Boss.

Devorah Rose had requested the creator of the reality show to design a cake worth $30 million, and the traditional cake was made with jewels like rubies, diamonds, sapphires, and emeralds.

  1.     Luxury Bridal Show Cake – $20 million

This 8-layer cake, one and a half feet tall, was created by Nahid Parsa for a luxury bridal show.

The Beverly Hills luxury bridal show decided to have a wedding theme cake for the event, and it was baked by Nahid Parsa. This beautiful cake costs $2.5 million per layer. Nahid Parsa has been creating unique cakes for the cake boutique La Patisserie Artistique.

The 8-layer cake with gorgeous icing roses in the lower layer and a little bouquet on the top includes gold flakes and many diamonds. This cake takes the shape of the bride’s gown and is decorated with pink flowers blooming at the bottom of the cake.

  1.     Africa Cake – $5 million

This cake shaped like the African continent is an expensive chocolate cake created by a jewelry store owner in Tokyo. The owner made it interesting by embedding the tip with 2000 diamonds. It depicts the hotspots of Africa for Diamond mines.

It is expensive as the 2000 diamonds have been tactfully placed around the perimeter of the cake and the southern tip as they are hotspots of diamond mines in Africa.

  1.     Luster Dust Cake – $1.3 million

This one-foot-tall cake created by a joint effort of Dallas Delicious Cakes and Dallas Gold and Silver exchange weighed 160 pounds. It was created for the Dallas Bridal Fair for public display.

The main ingredient used in the cake was luster dust. The curvy lines of the cake decorated with silver dust were dressed with million-dollar-worth diamonds. The most surprising part of the cake is that it is not edible as it is a foam-inserted cake with Ivory fondant flavor and had to be kept under a 24-hour watch.

A real cake would have weighed 200 pounds.

  1.     Diamond Chocolate Cake – $850,000

This fourteen-inch expensive cake created by Masami Miyamoto and Sa-Birth was baked as a marketing gimmick by Takashimaya departmental store.

This cake is decorated with 100 diamonds weighing 50 carats and takes the idea of a tree with its branches having beautiful fruits. Pastry chef Masami Miyamoto baked it, and Jeweler Sa-Birth decorated it with diamonds to match the chocolate.

The Takashimaya department stores in Osaka made it for marketing purposes to attract customers during Christmas shopping at a mall.

This chocolate fondant cake is still preserved at the storefront.

  1.     Platinum Cake – $130,000

This Fondant cake created by Nobue Ikara is fully draped with platinum chains, pins, necklaces, pendants, and edible platinum flakes. It was baked as a marketing gimmick by Platinum Guild International.

This cake was made by Platinum Guild International, which is a brand attracting women to platinum jewelry. Edible platinum flakes increase the cost of the cake covered with plain fondant and frosting. This beautiful cake was dedicated to many Japanese women like Chie Kumasawa and actress Rinko Kikuchi.

  1. Royal Cake for Prince William’s Wedding – $78,000

The fruitcake by Fiona Cairns was an 8-tier, three-foot cake weighing 220 pounds created for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Wedding.

Instead of royal icing, fondant is used in the cake with 900 sugar paste bows and ribbon flowers. Fiona Cairns and 50 designers and bakers took five weeks to make this royal cake. The cake included a few laces and flowers from Kate’s wedding dress.
